The perils of scheming

Great CL story about a woman trying to trap a guy with 'his' kid. Be careful out there guys.

  • He sounds like a prick - they deserved each other.

  • Not quite sure how you can equate a little callousness with cuckolding. He doesn't seem like a great person by any means, but given what we know, he's way, way better than she is.

  • I infer from his statements a certain glee in misleading her to begin with. Of course what she did is unforgivable, but he knowingly kept sleeping with her with no intention of entering into a serious relationship and indeed no ability to have kids with her. He's a schmuck!

  • I don't want to defend the guy too much, so I won't after this, but he states that she brought up commitment, and that he never indicated to her any interest in one. Maybe he's shading the truth here, but it sounds like she should have known that he was not in it for that. She accepted his terms for sleeping together. If that's not what she wanted, she should have gotten out. However much of a prick he may be, she was not tricked into anything. Yes he didn't let her know about the vasectomy, but since she knew he didn't want to be in a committed relationship with her (so wouldn't want a child with her), that's pretty much irrelevant. I certainly don't hold him up as a moral paragon. I guess the bottom line is that as bad he is (a self-centered a-hole), she takes the cake. The moral to guys is be careful, and the moral to woman is...be careful. Don't take bluster and swearing as proof of truth-telling, don't get into a relationship to try to change someone, and certainly don't try to do it by scheming and trickery.
